Hand and Mind : when materiality takes shape
We have become intelligent creatures that know how to steer airplanes, play piano, remove tumors and so on. The human brain is the platform where it all initiates, but if it weren’t for the hands those things would be no more than just a thought. In the Western world, we have the tendency to separate completely the mind and the body. We look at the brain as something we are, while considering the body as something we live in. In creative fields, the hands often play a crucial role in our work. But is the hand only a hardworking tool that follows the intention of the brain, or, now and then, does it take its own command and has its own intelligence, skills and will ?
